Custom Machine Quilting
Shared Threads specializes in quality work for those interested in a unique and distinctive quilted appearance that turns a quilt top into a family heirloom. Personal assistance is provided in helping you select just the right patterns for your quilts. Shared Threads is dedicated to serving customers and their needs with respect, kindness, and efficiency. Rush order charge add 25% to total charge.
Service Rates

Continuously running, repeated pattern that covers the entire quilt top. Character of designs available range from elegant to whimsical.
$0.02 to $0.03 per square inch ($40 minimum)

| Meander Quilting |
Small to large freehand stitching over the entire quilt top.
$0.02 to $0.03 per square inch ($40 minimum)

| Custom Quilting |
Stenciled or marked designs in blocks, sashings and borders includes echoing, stippling, outlining, stitch-in-the-ditch and grid work. (Stencil must be the property of the customer).
$0.035 to $0.05 per square inch ($75 minimum)

| Heirloom Quilting |
Circles, customized or original designs specific to the quilt top.
$.055 to $0.07 per square inch ($75 minimum)

| Backing or Binding |
Butting, piecing or attaching (binding is stitched down by machine). Shared Threads sells fabric for backings and bindings.

Cotton only. No polyester, please. We sell:
- 96" wide Hobbs Blend $7.50 per yard

Preparation of Top and Backing
- Trim all threads on quilt top, press, square up, fold and hang on a hanger.
- If backing is pieced, the seam allowances should be 1/2" wide. Remove selvages, square up backing and press seam allowances open. Dimension of backing needs to be 4-6" wider than the top on all four (4) sides. Press backing, fold and hang on hanger with top.
- Batting should be the same dimension as the backing.
Trimming threads, pressing, un-pinning or un-basting services are available at $15 per hour.
