The work in the quilt below is an original design created in the course of teaching a quilting class. The theme was Ribbons and Roses. Home Deco fabrics were used in conjunction with quilting fabrics and multiple embroidery designs and stitches were employed to develop the theme. The binding shape was created with a template for rounding the corners and an "s" curve shape for the sides of the quilt. To finish the binding a ruching technique was inserted in the center surrounded by covered piping on both sides. The quilt won second place in a CQC contest in the special techniques category.
